TOM WEBB

Kukri Sports is delighted to welcome Tom Webb as one of the newest Youth Talent Programme Ambassadors.

A versatile middle-distance runner, Tom has already achieved remarkable success, including winning the 3000m EA National U17 titles twice and securing victory at the 3000m School Games in August 2024.

How did you first get involved in athletics?

“I was entered into a schools county combined athletics championship when I was in Year 4. There were qualifiers and then finals, and I won it. It was a great feeling, and I just loved competing after that.”

What club and school are you associated with?

“I attend sixth form at Millfield School in Somerset, where I’ve been fortunate to receive a lot of support through a sports scholarship since Year 9. The facilities and provisions are exceptional, helping me develop as an athlete. I proudly compete for the school as well as two local clubs: Wells City Harriers for road and Yeovil Olympiads AC for track.”

What event do you compete in?

“I focus on middle-distance running, with 3000m being my best distance, though I enjoy longer events as well and am keeping an open mind.”

What has been your proudest moment in athletics so far?

“My proudest moments are my two 3000m EA National U17 wins in Birmingham. Winning the 3000m at the School Games in August 2024 was also an amazing experience.”

What are your long-term goals in athletics?

“I want to be the best I can possibly be. I believe that with hard work and some luck with injuries, I can reach a very high level as a senior athlete. My ultimate goal is to compete for GB and achieve something truly special. To do this, I plan to work hard, stay dedicated to training, and always be willing to ask questions and learn. I’m very motivated to achieve something I can be really proud of.”

Who are your role models in athletics?

“I’m inspired by Alex Yee because of his excellent running and incredible track times.”

What does becoming a Kukri Sports YTP Ambassador mean to you?

“Being awarded a place on the Kukri team means so much to me. It’s a significant achievement and one I’m incredibly grateful for. I hope this opportunity will boost my development as an athlete, and I plan to use the experience to grow and become even better.”
