ISSY STAMP

Kukri Sports is proud to announce Isabelle Stamp as one of the newest Youth Talent Programme Ambassadors.

A standout shot putter, Isabelle has already achieved remarkable success, including winning the English Schools Championship, earning multiple England vests, and medalling at prestigious events such as nationals and the SIAB.

How did you first get involved in athletics?

“I started athletics over four years ago after a sports teacher at my school recommended I try shot put. As soon as I started, I felt so welcomed and loved it instantly. Over the past four years, I have accumulated medals in competitions like nationals and the SIAB, as well as earning multiple England vests.”

What club and school are you associated with?

“I compete for South London Harriers and am a student at Alleyn’s School.”

What event do you compete in?

“Shot put”.

What has been your proudest moment in athletics so far?

“I have quite a few! My main athletics achievement is probably winning English Schools and breaking the championship record after winning a silver medal for two years previously. Another proud moment is my first season in athletics, as it was something I tried outside my comfort zone. I jumped in at the deep end and ended up loving it.”

What are your long-term goals in athletics?

“My long-term goals are to eventually earn a GB vest in the next couple of years and possibly compete at the World Junior Championships. Further down the line, I would love to represent my country at the senior level and even compete at the Olympics. I’d also like to attend university in America, as I know it would help me develop both as an athlete and a person, offering opportunities that will support my ambitions.”

Who are your role models in athletics?

“One of my main athletic role models is Jessica Ennis-Hill. Over a summer, I read her book and found it incredibly inspiring how she overcame injuries by focusing on long-term goals. This has helped me through my own injury setbacks, teaching me to trust the process and keep the bigger picture in mind.”

What does becoming a Kukri Sports YTP Ambassador mean to you?

“It means a lot to me. Being chosen to represent the Kukri brand alongside such a great group of athletes is a huge responsibility. I believe this opportunity will help me get one step closer to achieving my athletic dreams while also teaching me valuable skills that will benefit both my athletics career and life in general.”
