Kukri Sports is thrilled to introduce Isabella Turner as one of the newest Youth Talent Programme Ambassadors.
A passionate and talented competitor in pole vault, Isabella has shown remarkable dedication to their craft, with aspirations of continuing to represent Great Britain on the international stage and beyond.
How did you first get involved in athletics?
“I started athletics when I was 13 after one of my PE teachers suggested I go to the local athletics club for high jump. I saw they had a pole vault group and thought that would be way more fun to try. I quickly fell in love with pole vault and started focusing on it after about a year.”
What club and school are you associated with?
“I’m a member of Dacorum AC and currently attend Roundwood Park School.”
What event do you compete in?
“Pole vault.”
What has been your proudest moment in athletics so far?
“My proudest moment was jumping over 4.00m for the very first time at my home club. It was an unforgettable milestone.”
What are your long-term goals in athletics?
“I want to keep competing internationally and representing GB at age group championships and into the senior level too. Mostly, I want to continue enjoying athletics and stay consistent so I can compete all over the world and keep jumping higher.”
Who are your role models in athletics?
My biggest role model in athletics is Nikki Hiltz, as they are so proudly and unapologetically who they are at the highest level and make me feel confident that I also have a space in athletics as a non-binary athlete.”
What does becoming a Kukri Sports YTP Ambassador mean to you?
“I am so excited to be a Kukri Sports YTP Ambassador and to work with one of the best sportswear brands there is. I also think the experience of learning how to work with and promote a brand through social media will be a good life skill to have and take with me in my athletics career.”
