About Ryen:
Ryen Rennie is a dedicated sprinter specialising in the 200m and 400m, with experience across the 100m through to the one-lap event. Introduced to athletics by his father at a young age, Ryen has steadily progressed through the sport, achieving multiple personal bests and five victories last season. With ambitions of competing at elite international level, he is focused on consistent improvement and performing on the biggest stages.

Best Achievements: Multiple personal bests in 100m, 200m and 400m, five race wins in 2025, represented his club Blackheath & Bromley in the 4x 400m at the Dynamic New Athletics competition in Portugal in 2024.
How did you first get involved in athletics?
“I first got involved in athletics through my dad, who is a big fan of the sport. He got me into running when I was young. I started with long distance to be different from my sister, who was a sprinter at the time, but I later found my passion for the 200m and 400m.”
What has been your proudest moment in athletics so far?
“My proudest moment so far is representing my club, Blackheath & Bromley, at the Dynamic New Athletics competition in Portugal, competing in the 4x400m. Being selected to represent the club internationally was a huge milestone for me.”
What are your long-term goals in athletics?
“My long-term goal is to become an elite international-level sprinter. I want to compete at the highest level and push myself to reach the same level as the athletes that I look up to. I’m committed to improving year by year and seeing how far I can go in the sport.”
Who are your role models in athletics?
“My role models are Kenny Bednarek and Usain Bolt. They both inspire me with their work ethic and their ability to perform on the biggest stages. Their careers motivate me to chase my own goals of becoming an elite sprinter.”
What does being a Kukri Sports Ambassador mean to you?
“Being a Kukri ambassador is a huge privilege to me. I’m grateful to be representing a brand that shares many of the same values that I have.”
What do you hope to achieve in your role?
“I hope to represent the brand well through my training, competitions and attitude. I want to inspire others to promote a positive sporting culture and show what can be achieved through dedication, consistency and belief in yourself.”
