How did you first get involved in athletics?
“At primary school I was always pretty good at sports day and would win the 200m. I broke the 200m record and long jump records in year 8; it wasn’t until year 10 that coaches recommended I take long jump seriously. My mum promised to let me start after my GCSEs, and the rest is history.”
What has been your proudest moment in athletics so far?
“Making it to my first British Championships in 2024 was so unexpected, but I made the most of it and had the time of my life.”
What are your long-term goals in athletics?
“I want to make it to the Olympic Games — whichever one that is — but honestly, I’m taking everything in my stride.”
Who are your role models in athletics?
“My first role model was Usain Bolt (pretty cliché), but my main role model is actually tennis player Rafael Nadal. I admire his tenacity and “never give up” attitude — I try to emulate that intensity on the track.”
What does being a Kukri Sports Ambassador mean to you?
“It means so much! I’ve always wanted to showcase my story and my training, including behind-the-scenes moments.”
What do you hope to achieve in your role?
“I hope to inspire younger athletes and show them there’s a side to athletics that’s not just “win at all costs,” but about enjoying competing and getting the best out of yourself.”
