Every athlete\u2019s journey is defined by key moments, the first time they step onto an international stage, the first time they lead a team, and the first time they achieve a dream they have worked for tirelessly.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

As part of our ongoing campaign focused on para-sports and athletes, we\u2019re shining a light on incredible athletes whose journeys embody resilience, break barriers and inspire the next generation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Amy Thompson\u2019s story is one of dedication, perseverance and milestone moments that showcase the power of determination in para-sport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A promising F41 shot-put athlete and proud Kukri ambassador, Amy has shared three images that capture the moments that have defined her exciting journey so far.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI remember how excited I was to wear the England kit for the first time. Representing the country was the hugest honour!\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Stepping onto the field in England kit for the first time at the Loughborough Pathway International was a dream come true for Amy. Not only did she equal her personal best throw of 7.94m, but she also received the female shotput performance award.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This milestone marked the beginning of her international career and now, just over two years later, Amy made her international debut at the World Para Athletics Championships in New Delhi, finishing seventh in the F41 classification.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI couldn\u2019t believe it when I was selected to captain such a talented junior England team. We also won, which was just a bonus to a great day of competition.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Being named captain at the 2024 U20 Home Countries International was another defining moment in Amy\u2019s journey. Leadership is about inspiring others and guiding a team to success, and she embraced the challenge with confidence and determination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt\u2019s the biggest honour of my career so far to represent GB alongside some of my role models. Competing against the best of the best was a fantastic experience for me.”<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Competing at this year\u2019s World Athletics Para Championships represents the pinnacle of Amy\u2019s journey so far. Sharing the stage with her role models and representing her country at the highest level demonstrates the extraordinary results of perseverance and dedication.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Her story continues to inspire others, showing what\u2019s possible when barriers are challenged and resilience drives action.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These three milestones highlight not only Amy\u2019s remarkable rise in para-athletics, but also the spirit of para-sport itself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
