{"id":6967,"date":"2024-09-09T09:00:00","date_gmt":"2024-09-09T08:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.kukrisports.com\/ca\/?p=6967"},"modified":"2024-09-06T14:53:24","modified_gmt":"2024-09-06T13:53:24","slug":"kukri-sports-celebrates-affiliated-athletes-success-olympic-games","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kukrisports.com\/ca\/news\/kukri-sports-celebrates-affiliated-athletes-success-olympic-games\/","title":{"rendered":"KUKRI SPORTS CELEBRATES AFFILIATED ATHLETES\u2019 OUTSTANDING SUCCESS AT OLYMPIC GAMES"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>As the curtain falls on this year\u2019s Olympic Games, Kukri Sports proudly celebrates the remarkable achievements of its affiliated athletes in Paris.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>From 26 July to 11 August, the games displayed unparalleled talent and determination, with 10,500 athletes competing across 32 sports over 17 days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>23 Kukri-affiliated athletes, affiliated with key Kukri partners such as British Gymnastics, England Athletics, Loughborough University and Leeds Beckett University, delivered exceptional performances, securing a total of 27 medals, including five gold that led to Team GB finishing 7<sup>th<\/sup> in the overall medal table.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-vimeo wp-block-embed-vimeo wp-embed-aspect-1-1 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Kukri Olympics Roundup V2\" src=\"https:\/\/player.vimeo.com\/video\/1006961115?dnt=1&amp;app_id=122963\" width=\"1000\" height=\"1000\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"autoplay; fullscreen; picture-in-picture; clipboard-write\"><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-loughborough-university-athletes-shine-bright\"><strong>Loughborough University athletes shine bright<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Kukri-affiliated athletes from Loughborough University, a key partner for over a decade, excelled in this year\u2019s games, bringing home 16 medals: four gold, four silver and eight bronze across swimming, triathlon, rowing, athletics and cycling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Among the standout performers were Sophie Capewell, wining gold in the team sprint Track Cycling event and Daniel Wiffin, who celebrated a historic gold medal victory in the Men\u2019s 800m (Swimming) Freestyle, becoming the first individual athlete from Northern Ireland to win gold since 1972.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-bryony-page-completes-her-medal-collection\"><strong>Bryony Page completes her medal collection<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>British Trampoline gymnast, Bryony Page, made history by winning gold in the Trampoline event, completing her set of Olympic medals with previous silvers (Tokyo 2020) and bronzes (Rio de Janeiro 2016).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As a member of the British Gymnastics team, Bryony benefits from Kukri\u2019s partnership as the official teamwear partner, supplying high-quality sportswear for gymnasts and coaches across all gymnastics disciplines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bryony was also named as one of Team GB\u2019s flagbearers for the closing ceremony and was joined on the podium by Jake Jarman, who won bronze in the men\u2019s floor routine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-keely-hodgkinson-s-historic-gold-amp-england-athletics-success\"><strong>Keely Hodgkinson\u2019s historic gold &amp; England Athletics\u2019 success<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Keely Hodgkinson became only the 10<sup>th<\/sup> British woman in history to win athletics gold, triumphing in the women\u2019s 800 metres event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A former student of Leeds Beckett University \u2013 another key partner of Kukri \u2013 Keely was joined by 18 other England Athletic teammates in winning medals, including those earned by Matt Hudson-Smith, Katarina Johnson-Thompson and Darryl Neita.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Andy Ronnie, Group CEO at Kukri Sports<\/strong>, said <em>\u201cAs a brand dedicated to empowering athletes to reach their full potential, we are delighted to celebrate the incredible achievements of our affiliated athletes at this year\u2019s Olympic Games.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u201cTheir dedication and hard work have been inspiring, and we congratulate every athlete on their success.
