{"id":6751,"date":"2024-06-25T09:00:00","date_gmt":"2024-06-25T08:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.kukrisports.com\/ca\/?p=6751"},"modified":"2024-06-18T08:38:40","modified_gmt":"2024-06-18T07:38:40","slug":"fight-opponent-boxing-kieran-molloy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kukrisports.com\/ca\/news\/fight-opponent-boxing-kieran-molloy\/","title":{"rendered":"\u201cMY NEXT OPPONENT IS A GOOD TEST AND I\u2019M READY FOR THE CHALLENGE.\u201d &#8211; KIERAN MOLLOY"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Ahead of his highly-anticipated next fight against River Wilson-Bent, Kukri Sports caught up with boxing ambassador Kieran Molloy to delve into his training camp, maintaining his unbeaten streak and the importance of mental toughness.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Exciting boxing star and Kukri Sports ambassador, Kieran Molloy, continues to impress on the professional stage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In April, Molloy extended his impressive unbeaten record to eight fights with a hard-fought victory against Mexican opponent Sergio Garcia Herrera on the \u2018Coming of Age\u2019 card in Rotherham.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Despite facing adversity for the first time in his professional career, Molloy showed remarkable resilience and determination to secure a narrow 76-75 points win.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kieran is next in action in GBM\u2019s Into the Fire in an action-packed night of boxing, starring in a welterweight contest against River Wilson-Bent on Saturday 29 June at Coventry\u2019s Sky Dome Arena.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With his focus now firmly set on his next bout, the 25-year-old Irish fighter emphasises the importance of meticulous preparation in his success so far. <em>\u201cWe train extremely hard to get into &amp; stay in good shape all year round at Loughborough University.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u201cMy confidence comes from preparation. If I know I\u2019ve given everything and haven\u2019t cut any corners, I\u2019ll be mentally in a good place when it\u2019s time to compete.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Molloy also sheds light on his rigorous training schedule and the invaluable support network pushing him in the right direction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u201cI\u2019ve been fortunate to spar with former world champion David Avanesyan ahead of my fight,\u201d <\/em>he reveals.<em> \u201cAvanyesyan is also training for his own world title shot next month, so it\u2019s been a fantastic learning experience for me.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Describing a typical training week, Molloy details a blend of technical work, strength and conditioning, and strategic sparring sessions.<em> \u201cOn Monday, Wednesday and Fridays they have been heavy sparring days, followed by interval sprints in the afternoon. Tuesday and Thursday tend to be more technical work in the mornings, followed by weights and conditioning in the afternoon.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u201cDiet and nutrition are obviously very important.
