Clogher Valley RFC are celebrating the latest chapter of their remarkable journey, having secured the Ulster Kukri Qualifying League Section One title at the weekend - they will now represent Ulster in the All Ireland League Round-Robin qualifying tournament as they bid to step into the senior ranks!
The club from Tyrone picked up a 59-5 victory at Limavady to secure the championship, a result which meant they completed the league campaign undefeated - only a draw against Ballymoney earlier in the season kept them from a totally unblemished record.
The winners of the round-robin All Ireland League qualifying competition which Clogher Valley now enter, will gain automatic promotion to Division 2B of the All Ireland League, while the runners up will play off against the bottom team from Division 2B at the end of the current season. Competition is sure to be firm - they will face trips to the Leincester and Munster champions, Skerries and Richmond respectively, and a home game against the strong Connacht side, Monivea. The first of these games takes place on Saturday (24th March) so a huge 'good luck' from everyone at Kukri!
