Sevens season is well and truly underway and it was a great weekend for Denstone College who finished as runners-up in the 2012 U15s Warwick 7s tournament at the weekend.
It was a tough group for Denstone, who were drawn against fellow Kukri-kitted teams Millfield and Sedbergh in the group stages. They overcame Millfield 29-0 and saw off Sedbergh with a 24-10 victory.
After picking up a win in their final group game, Denstone progressed to the quarter final, where they beat Portsmouth Grammar School, and then Warwick in the semi-final in a close 21-19 game.
In the final, Denstone fell short, losing out to Solihull 24-14. There were some great performances from the boys at Denstone College, with star performances from Ben Cherry who bagged 8 tries, Eric Draycott with 3 tries and 6 conversions and Charlie Venables who scored 4 tries and kicked 4 conversions.
Great effort all round from Denstone College, and the other Kukri teams who took part, Millfield, Sedbergh and Kirkham Grammar School.
