It's been a fantastic for Jersey Rugby, who secured the National 1 Title and, with it, promotion to the RFU Championship for the first time in their history. Not content with this, they put the cherry on top of a very big cake with their fourth successive Siam Cup victory, defeating Guernsey 29-0 at Footes Lane!

Tries from Guy Thompson, Glenn Bryce and Nathan Hannay, in addition to a penalty try, plus 9 points from the boot of Ross Broadfoot, put the game beyond the reach of a gallant Guernsey outfit - but it was the rearguard action that pleased the coaching staff.

"I thought our defence was excellent and it's been like that all season," Jersey director of rugby Ben Harvey told BBC Sport.

"In the second half Guernsey had the wind at their back and threw everything at us and we managed to defend very well."

"Guernsey showed why they've been a difficult side to beat this year but I thought the game was played in great spirit."
