Congratulations to Kukri kitted Birmingham Bulldogs who're now champions of the Kukri Midlands Rugby League after an enthralling encounter at Derby RFC.
The game was the culmination of a fantastic day of Rugby League which saw over 400 spectators attend the event. The Bulldogs did not have things all their own way though with the North Derbyshire Chargers going 12-0 up in the first half....but with 5 minutes from the break the Bulldogs hit back with two rapid fire scores to level the game.
In the second half, Birmingham kicked up a gear scoring three second half tries....to go on and win the match!
The U16's match was another intense affair in which Nottingham Outlaws beat a determined Telford Raiders side 18-4. Redditch Ravens overcame a strong Northampton Knights team in the U14's Final.
In the U12's Northampton Knights went against the formbook, beating Telford Raiders 30-16 in a fantastic Final.
RFL's Midlands Regional Manager, David Butler commented: "The Kukri Midlands Rugby League Grand Finals were a fantastic success. All the teams competed tremendously and whilst there can only be one winner in a game, all the teams today should be proud of their achievements. The Kukri Midlands Rugby League has been a revelation this year and everyone involved in Rugby League in the MIdlands is looking forward to improving and expanding the competition for 2010."
