Netball Scotland are celebrating their highest world ranking in 10 years after leapfrogging Singapore to take 13th place.
It comes after the Kukri clad girls beat Singapore in both tests last month. They were hoping for an even higher world ranking on their return from Barbados, but the home side defeated the visitors despite Scotland performing well and winning 4 of the 8 quarters contested in the Series.
Scotland are now reliant on how the other countries do in the ranking system over the next few months. They need to be in the top 11 by the end of October 2009 if they have any chance of qualification for the Commonwealth Games in Delhi next year.
Geraldine Moore, Netball Scotland Pathways Administrator, commented: "We're still very hopeful we'll qualify. The ranking system is very complicated and we're now dependant on what happens with all the other countries. We're in the highest place we've been in 10 years, so we are very much remaining confident."
Fingers crossed ladies!
