It's all going on down at Ipswich Hockey Club! This great Kukri club is a very successful one with 5 Mens and 5 Womens teams and it's always great to hear how they're getting on!

In the Womens 1st Team, it's been confirmed that Sandie Lister will coach the team for the 2012-13 season, looking to continue the great work she started last season. The team's GK, Mariette Rix, meanwhile, will be travelling to Holland in the next couple of weeks to make her final preparations for selection for the South African Olympic team. 'Rixie' will be aiming to make her 2nd Olympics - she's already South Africa's most capped ever GK with 140 test caps! Good luck Rixie!

The Women's Veterans Team, meanwhile, will be representing England in the 3rd European Veterans Club Championship to be held at Kampong Hockey Club, Utrecht, Holland on the 25-27th May - and, in Olympic year, it's fitting that 2 of Ipswich's squad are 1992 Olympic Bronze Medal winners!

On a similarly 'Olympic-themed' note, the GB Women's 1992 Olympic Squad had been invited to be part of a parade at the GB Hockey Test Event to be held this week. Vickey Dixon, Jo Thompson and Sandie Lister, all of Ipswich HC, are part of this elite group who are the only GB womens hockey team to ever win a medal at the Olympics - until 2012, perhaps!
