Congratulations to Dan Martin and Nathan Miller, the Nottingham Trent University students who are the recipients of the Kukri Sport Science Prize for 2011-12!
The fund represents just one part of our fantastic relationship with NTU and we're delighted that our funds will go towards supporting research in the field of sport science! Dan will receive a cheque for £1,040 and Nathan £1,560. Congratulations both!
The two Masters students have been selected through a rigorous process and richly deserve their prize! They were required to submit abstracts of how they would use the research funds - Dan plans to investigate the concept of the 'central governor model' in relation to fatigue and its prevention during exercise, while Nathan is planning to investigate the importance of elite youth football players' speed profile in determining whether they are released or retained over a season period. Congratulations both and good luck with the research!
