Somerset CCC captain Marcus Trescothick has beaten off stern competition to win the FTI Most Valuable Player award.
The 35 year old Somerset skipper, who has amassed 2,518 runs in all competitions this season (more than 500 more than his nearest competitor!) also won the award in 2009 and becomes the first player to win the award twice.
It's a richly deserved bit of silverware after some crushing disappointments for Somerset this year. "Tresco" has been in amazing form and helped Somerset to what was their fifth straight knockout final at Lord's on Saturday.
