The Kukri Story So Far...
Kukri was born in the attic of a house in Twickenham, Middlesex in 1999 after it’s creator, sports mad, rugby fanatic Welshman, Phil Morris returned from Hong Kong where he was the Financial Controller of the HKRFU.
He needed a job… his background was accountancy – but that
was just a non-starter when all Morris did was dream of rugby
and Welsh tries – it was only ever going to go one
way… a job which involved… you’ve guessed it… sport.
After marrying a sports mad Scottish lass, he was
dreaming about scoring the winning Grand Slam try for
Wales, when Morris had a Eureka moment and the concept of
Kukri was born.
As an ex-rugby club captain himself, who’d been through the painful process of trying to get hold of decent kit at a decent price many times, he thought: “I’ll do it myself!”
Along the way he’s been joined by many other sports fanatics whose love of sport ranges from cricket to netball to hockey to lacrosse to rugby league to... well... 50 sports later!
