In front of a packed house of over five hundred fans the St. Georges Saints were able to defeat their rivals, Vancouver College, to split the season series.
The game was a back and forth affair with each team taking turns holding the lead briefly in the first half. The Saints came out of the half and established a 13 point lead but the Irish responded with a 20-4 run to end the quarter. Down by five to start the 4th the Saints were able to tighten up their defence and re-establish their lead, eventually pulling away down the stretch.
Guy DaSilva, head basketball coach at St. George's Secondary School adds: "It was a great team effort by the Saints as a whole as they stepped up their defensive intensity when it mattered most and used the energy of the crowd to fuel their way to victory."
